I couldn't tell what this gator was going after but it was fun to watch. Usually all the gators do is lay very still, occasionally submersing under the water.

I've said it many times: I love evening light! It just make everything look so beautiful. This heron was very content acting as my model for the evening.

Beautiful Blue Heron!

I love these birds. I think their neck is so cool. They can completely hide it, turn it into a "C" or a "S" shape and even stretch it out. Plus I think their eye makes them look very intense, especially when they are looking in the water for something to eat.

I love how the tendrils of the cucumber plants wind and grown themselves around anything they can find. I found one of them slowly wrapping itself around a pepper plant. Sorry Mr. Cucumber, but you can't support yourself on a pepper plant!

Lots of plant and insect pics lately. I spent the weekend taking picture of gators and herons and will post some of those shots soon.

Many a caterpillar has made the ultimate sacrifice in being my child's "pet" for the afternoon. This one made a clean get away after our dinner. He sure provided quite a bit of entertainment while he was here.

I was using my macro lens, and boy oh boy was it hard to get anything in focus. The little guy sensed his freedom and was crawling away as quick as he could manage.
