The weather is constantly changing in the Rocky Mountains. On our way back to the city after our day of hiking, we saw an amazing double rainbow. Not only was it double, but the lower rainbow had the illusion of the blue-indego-violet colors being mirrored, so we could see them twice. It was amazing. As we drove into the city, it seemed as if we passed underneath the rainbow. We frantically searched for that pot of gold. No luck. (I took all these shots from the passenger seat of the truck.)
Below: In this image I removed some clutter from the foreground; a back hoe, and some yellow cones. It was a construction zone. Not a pretty backdrop for such a beautiful rainbow.

I'm having fun going through the thousands (yes, thousands) of pictures I took this summer. These were taken on July 26. I love the fact that we are all wearing our hoodies to stay warm.
The two older ones head out on the pond in hopes of catching their first fish. She asked, "You do what to the worm and what to the fish?" Fishing may not be a good fit for her.

The younger one wanted to go too. Next time. There will be a next time.
