I love beautiful evening light. This photo is SOOC, no editing at all. I didn't manufacture those sparkly eyes, I just faced her toward the setting sun. I love bright, colorful pictures.
It's a moth of some kind. We actually found two of them yesterday in the backyard. One was sitting on the back of a red, plastic basketball hoop. The other was on a blade of grass. I can't quite figure out what is coming out of his head; looks like feathers. They were just sitting there, then a big gust of wind came and the one, (on the blade of grass) started being blown by the wind. He eventually flew away. The other one just sat there. Ella said she saw the one on the basketball hoop yesterday, so apparently it didn't move much. I wonder why. Perhaps I should find out what kind of moth these are. They are quite large, very hairy, and green.
This is my entry for i heart faces, category: Angles
For this week's photo challenge, we are focusing on unusual angles. Stand higher than your subject, lay on the ground, move to the side, tilt your camera while you are shooting...do what you need to do to give your photo a uniqueness of it's own. A unique angle is what this week is all about.
She loves to climb trees, and we have lots of trees! She comes away with scratched legs and arms and a resolved determination to go higher next time. Please honey, no higher!
Look what was buzzing around while we sat outside. In the spring, bees like to bore holes in the wood planks underneath the deck roof. There are small piles of sawdust on the deck under the holes. I'm not sure what they do in those holes, but it is interesting to watch.
Friday afternoon was so beautiful. Clear, warm, no wind. Add to that no homework, no practices to get to, no games, no deadlines, no obligations. We just played in the backyard and made homemade pizza.
Who am I? In a nutshell? I am active and strong. I am married. I race, tickle and read to my three kids. I am busy. I like cheesecake, a lot. I don't like clutter, although sometimes that is hard to tell considering the state of my desk and kitchen. I take a lot of photos, and am trying to take better quality ones. This blog is a collection of my photos that I take every day. They may not be spectacular (yet), but perhaps ... one day. Until then, I will keep shooting away.
