Do you know what this is?

It's a manatee!  Closest relation is the elephant.  Gentle giant.  No enemies except the props on our boats.  Slow down and watch for manatees.

I think it's an Eastern Spiny Softshell Turtle, but I could be wrong.  He is not the most attractive turtle I've seen (that honor belongs to the chocolate, caramel, pecan delight that I love so much).  He was in the back yard and kept putting his head up as if he was sniffing for the water.  He headed straight for the pond then swam away.
