This is an example of the challenge I have shooting blondies in the sun; their hair gets blown out. Any suggestions?

Not sure what editing software you use, but you could select the hair and bring the curves or levels down. Another option would be to use the burn tool at a low opacity to reduce the brightness. We are all dark haired in my family so I don't have this dilemma! :)
