This is my entry for i ♥ faces, category: Pets

I took this photo in September. It was early morning and I was at an arboretum taking pictures of flowers and such. There were lots of butterflies (and moths) around. At first I was chasing them around the flowers trying to get a good shot. They just wouldn't stay still for me. Imagine that! Then I changed tactics and lenses. I put on my big zoom lens, stepped back and stood very still. The result was lots of amazing photos. I love all the butterfly pictures I got, but I decided to submit this moth because he was different and I like his furry body. If you want to see some of the butterflies, there are here and here, here and here.

Check out the action at i ♥ faces.

WOW! Absolutely magnificent, especially considering how small your subject is and how sharp your focus is! Great advice about changing tactics and lenses.

This is an incredible capture!! I've used my zoom lens for some of my creature shots too because they are less apt to run/fly away.

I love the colors too!
