August 28, 2011

The weather is constantly changing in the Rocky Mountains. On our way back to the city after our day of hiking, we saw an amazing double rainbow. Not only was it double, but the lower rainbow had the illusion of the blue-indego-violet colors being mirrored, so we could see them twice. It was amazing. As we drove into the city, it seemed as if we passed underneath the rainbow. We frantically searched for that pot of gold. No luck. (I took all these shots from the passenger seat of the truck.)

Below: In this image I removed some clutter from the foreground; a back hoe, and some yellow cones. It was a construction zone. Not a pretty backdrop for such a beautiful rainbow.
