April 26, 2009

This week's theme is reflection. I was a tad confused as to what exactly the judges at i heart faces were looking for. One definition they used was "your photo needs to have a face in it and a reflection of that face" and then a different definition of the theme said it was "the reflection of a face in something". So is that one face only, or the face and it's reflection? Whatever the case, here is what I came up with.

This is my photo for i heart faces ADULT category, theme: reflection

I know this is a posed photo, what can I say? I didn't know how to make a reflection seem natural. So we tramped out into our rain-soaked pasture to squat in front of a puddle. How exciting is that? Jaremie thoughtfully herded the cows (who were very curious as to what we were doing) out of my way. I like that he has his white shirt and dress pants from church still on, with his rubber boots.

I love these Annette and I love that you can just go to a rain soaked pasture just like that and take an awesome picture. I wouldn't have a clue where to find an idyllic clear body of water for taking pictures. :)

I like them both, but I especially like the adult one; how cool is hubby for humoring you like that? You are one lucky lady...

Ah, puddle squatting is one of our favorite things to do! But we never get pictures that good (or stay that clean!).

I don't think it matters that they are posed. I love that first one. The reflection in the puddle is really cool!! And the one of your daughter is similar to mine. :)

Your pictures are awesome! I love the one of your husband in his rain boots and dress up clothes! If it weren't for me... my husband would wear his tattered carharts to church... So

Your daughter looking in the mirror is very precious. Great job and good luck!

Your puddle reflection is great in so many ways, from the scenery to the sharp focus. Did you try cropping vertically, to reduce the background and emphasize the subjects? I think it would be fun to try! And Dad is a trooper! Hard to find a man that will play along with us photographers. :)

What a neat smooth reflection in the pond of the first picture. I also love the rich colors and details.

I love how vibrant the greens are in these pictures and how clearly your captured the reflections - even in water!

Ooooh, I'm so jealous of your mirror-like water. It's always so windy here that water is almost never smooth. Both of these are wonderful (and I like your "rejects" best of all :-) ).

Great shots! I tried to find water like that this week but either was none or the weather was giving us way to much water. I really like the one by the pond. LOVE IT!

I played too...come on over! :)
