This is my entry for i ♥ faces "Sports in Action"

I like this category, sports in action. With such active kids and parents, I had lots to choose from.

Oh, he really does love baseball. Wants me to play catch with him or pitch him balls to hit. What a fun kid. WHACK!

This is my entry for i ♥ faces "Pets, anything goes"

This is also one of my favorite categories. Other than my kids, I love to take pictures of wildlife. Gators, herons, egrets are some of my favorites. This is a beautiful blue heron. He was so close to me. I was able to get a bunch of great shots.

Check out all the photos at i ♥ faces.

Both are beautiful entries. Love the action on the first! This week was easy for those of us with kids and with access to animals, wasn't it?

i would say that your heron shot is amazing... Thanks for stopping by... It wasn't rain in my picture. I think it was fish or something like that. That picture was taken in a cemetery and I couldn't get to the other side of the large pond in order to investigate.

And yes, I am loving it! I am so excited to get more stuff for it but am not sure what to get, lol.
And i know i should probably know this but what does Nikkor 70-300 mm 4.5 AF-S mean? Nikkor is the brand i am guessing 70-300 is the zoom, could i ask what the 4.5 and AF-S is? I am new to this typ so i was just wonderin, lol. And would you mind if i added you?

both very cool shots!

Ok, I must have the auto focusing because the lense i have on is AF-S. The focal length is the same as the zoom, correct? And i just have the standard lense it came with: Nikkor DX AF-S 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G

You were at teh perfect angle to get the perfect baseball shot! I am always staring at the batter's back. :) I can only imagine how many frames it took to get one as great as this, but it was worth the effort, for sure. And you heron is magnificent. I love the details which can be seen on his head.
