Meet the newest member of our barnyard:
Yup, a turkey. Specifically, a tom turkey. Isn't he ugly? (Sorry, Dan). The bumps on his head creep me out; they are kind of spongy. He is quite friendly, follows us around the barn and down the road towards the pond. He puts on a tough guy act by fluffing out his feathers, but that's the extent of it. My four year old isn't afraid of him anymore and will go right up to him.
He doesn't have a name yet and we are taking submissions. Leave your name suggestion(s) in a comment. Sorry, no prizes for naming privileges, except the sheer delight in knowing you have named our barnyard turkey. Come on, folks ... give us a name ...

That is a face only a mother could love. WHAT a fun photography subject. That is so funny. The first name that came to my mind was Gilbert. I don't know why. The second name that came to mind was Oscar. Hmmm. Random turkey names. Those a great pics. I could study them for hours. COOL!
